The road ahead....

We went to the Oncologist yesterday for Shawn. We found out everything that is going on and the treatment he will be going through. He has Diffused large B cell Lymphoma. It is the best kind of Lymphoma you could have. It is curable with treatment. They also did a bone marrow biopsy to make sure there are no cells in his bone. The doctor said he would be shocked if there were any, so we believe in Jesus name there are none. His treatment will be Chemotherapy and maybe some radiation. We still have to see the radiation doctor to go over that treatment and then we can make a decision on what will be best for this tumor. He will have 3 rounds of Chemo. He will go every 3 weeks for 9 weeks for a treatment. They will last about 6 hours long. After his first 3 rounds we then have to decide more chemo or radiation. He has a great team of doctors that will helps us fight this Lymphoma #1 being Jesus. I know you have questions so I will try to answer some here. If you have any more questions just let me know.

When is his first treatment? Thursday January the 6th.
My kids #1 question was: Is daddy going to loose his hair? Yes Shawn will lose his hair, but we have already set a date just to shave it before it falls out.
Will Shawn feel sick after chemo? It is hard to say, but the doctor said days 3 and 4 are going to be the hardest. So please pray for us and a quick recovery.
Will Shawn have to be in the hospital? Only if he runs a fever after a chemo treatment. They will then treat him with IV antibiotics just to make sure he stays healthy.

Please continue to pray for our family as we journey through this together. Pray for Shawn, for Strength throughout treatment and health.
We choose to look at this as a gift and not anything other than that. You may say that sounds strange, but to us we look at it as finding out what really matters in life and embracing it. We have drawn closer together as a family and husband and wife. I will use this blog as a place to update everyone on the progress of this journey and to post about our everyday life. I also hope to use this blog to make crafty things and sell some of them. I will use the money made from this site to put toward all of our upcoming medical bills. Lastly thank you all for your support and prayers, keep them coming!
